World Congress of Biomechanics history

Biomechanics is a revolutionary field of study that is helping human life and research for a decade. This is the field that gets less recognition and collaboration than it deserves. Keeping that in mind, a world congress of Biomechanics is formed.


The first world congress of Biomechanics

The first world congress of Biomechanics was held back on August 30, 1990. It was a 5-day event where all the engineers and scientists from various disciplines were brought together. There were various exhibitions on the latest cutting-edge technology at that time, in addition to the medical devices and publications. Almost 1200 papers were presented on various topics like orthopedic, muscle mechanics, sports medication and so much more.

The second world congress of Biomechanics

The second world congress of Biomechanics was held back on 10th July 1994. The event was held in The Netherlands. About 1126 abstracts were delivered to the congress and 20 were chosen for oral presentation.  

The third world congress of Biomechanics

The third world congress of Biomechanics was held back on 8th August 1998. It was held in the city of Sapporo in Japan. The Science Council of Japan and the JNCB (Japan National committee on Biomechanics) held the event. There were around a thousand participants from 31 countries all around the world.

The fourth world congress of Biomechanics

The 4th world congress of Biomechanics was one of the biggest ones to date. It was held at the University of Calgary on 2nd august 2002. Almost 1500 of the world’s leading researchers came to the event with their expertise in biomechanics. Around 1,100 free communications were provided in the event.

The fifth world congress of Biomechanics

The fifth world congress of Biomechanics was held in the city of Munich. The congress was from 29 July to 4th August 2006. This was the 15th conference. The event provided ESB award lectures with symposia and discussion on the latest biomechanics’ tech and science.

The sixth world congress of Biomechanics
